About the event
Join Barton Area Group on their trip to Millington Woods, Pocklington canal and Kiplingcotes nature reserves. Millington Wood was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1991 in recognition of its wildlife value and its importance to the local community. The Wood is described as the richest botanical woodland in the East Riding of Yorkshire. In the afternoon we will visit Pocklington canal and/or Kiplingcotes. Kiplingcotes chalk meadow provides a haven for chalk-loving plant and animal species.
The field trip will start at Ness End Farm at 9am where car sharing is available, and will finish around 4pm.
