About the event

This month, join Alford and Mablethorpe Area Group for a guided walk around Mill Hill Quarry, a Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve known for its wildflowers and chalk vegetation.

The old chalk quarry has developed a very rich flora and Colin Byatt, Voluntary Reserve Manager, will show us around. Over the last couple of years efforts have been made to reduce the areas of stinging nettle by pulling them out. The nettles have out competed any other plants trying to establish. We will see how successful this has been.

The nearby road verges are similarly diverse and George Rutter, Wayside Warden, will explain the management and show us what is to be seen.

Meet at 6.15pm in East Sreet Car Park in Alford, or 6.30pm on site (TF 452 716). Please park with care where the verges are wider.

No booking necessary.
