Could you help run our Junior Wardens groups at Whisby, Gibraltar Point or Far Ings? 

From habitat conservation to pond exploration and bird surveys, Junior Wardens is the branch of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust for young people aged 11-18 who would like to help on a nature reserve, get involved in conservation and learn new skills, through a mix of practical hands-on tasks and educational sessions.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to join our team and to help run a Junior Wardens group monthly with support from the Trust staff. 

What's involved?

∗ Helping to plan and deliver an exciting and inspiring youth-led programme of conservation activities for young people. 

∗ Promoting the activities of the group and encouraging new members to join

∗ Running safe and enjoyable meetings, ensuring child welfare and safety policies are put into practice

∗ As a registered leader, you would have free access to training such as: first aid, child protection and ‘in house’ training on a range of activities and environmental issues.

Skills and experience

∗ You will have an interest and enthusiasm for wildlife and sharing this with young people (you don't need to be a 'wildlife expert'!)

∗ You would like to be involved in practical conservation work, and to share your skills and knowledge with young people - but no experience necessary. 

∗ You will need to agree to a DBS check (which will be paid for on your behalf) and provide two references

∗ You will have strong communication skills, a sense of responsibility, sound judgement, an ability to provide a safe and fun atmosphere and a mature, pragmatic and flexible approach
