Hide & Seek family festival
Event details
About the event
Love wildlife but not sure where to go or how to seek out those elusive creatures you might have seen on your favourite TV show. We have the perfect day out for you!
Let us get you started on your wildlife adventure at Far Ings National Nature Reserve! Join us for a free, fun and informative wildlife watching experience with pond dipping, guided walks, games and nature crafts. Visit our bird hides where you can chat with a friendly expert and test your spotting skills on the Camouflaged Creatures trail.
One of the highlights of the day is a special children’s walk led by a nine-year-old who knows Far Ings inside out… a brilliant reminder that curiosity matters far more than decades of expertise.
Stay for the day, bring a picnic - there are plenty of beautiful spots to sit and enjoy the view.
What to expect:
- A friendly welcome at every bird hide — doors wide open
- Free binoculars to borrow on relaxed, easy-paced guided walks
- Activities designed for total beginners
- Led by people who love chatting. No lectures here!
- Perfect for families, grandparents with grandchildren, and anyone who’s curious but not confident
- The event is completely free and parking is always free at Far Ings
