About the event

Wildlife Watch is a monthly club for children aged 5 to 11 years old to get out and experience our natural world. We have five Wildlife Watch groups around the county and for this event, it is our Alford group that is heading to Swinn Wood looking for fungi.

Come and hunt for exotic mushrooms and fungi in this original fragment of the ancient Wild Wood which used to cloak much of Britain. The underground mycelium connecting among the tree roots from centuries of undisturbed woodland biodiversity makes this a particularly rich site to find all sorts of beautiful fungi at this time of year.

Parents/Guardians are required to stay and supervise children during sessions.
