About the event
What is the UK's largest butterfly? How do comma butterflies protect themselves from predators? Where did the name 'butterfly' come from in the first place?
Track down the 10 butterfly facts and use them to answer the questions on the trail leaflet. The boards are all positioned around the education grounds, close to the Far Ings Visitor Centre, where you will find free parking, accessible facilities and a gift shop with refreshments available. Please pop inside to collect your trail leaflet.
This is a self-guided trail, open to all. The boards are situated within a small area on fairly level terrain, so ideal for little legs. If you want to continue exploring or enjoy a longer walk, there is the Tadpole Trail starting from the same car park, or a path up onto the Humber bank, from which you can access the other end of the nature reserve, with its lakes, bird hides and woodland walks (look out for the Highland cows too!).
