Area Groups in Mid Lincolnshire

Hello from Lincoln Area Group!

We're a friendly, non-pressure group of mixed age-range welcoming those of us who are interested in conserving and protecting wildlife for generations to come.

We promote the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust in Lincoln and the surrounding area and hold monthly meetings at the Education Centre at Whisby. We also organise visits to nature reserves.

About us

Events

All talks are held on a Thursday, 7.30pm at Whisby Education Centre, Moor Lane, Thorpe-on-the-Hill, Whisby, LN6 9BW. There will be refreshments during the interval.

Talks are £2.50. No booking required. You do not need to be a member to join our activities, all welcome!

2026 talks programme

17 Sep: 'The wildlife of Albania' by Gill Walsh.

An illustrated talk by Gill Walsh about Albania's wildlife including birds, insects, flowers and lizards. Plus beautiful scenery and some history too.

15 Oct: 'Snipe Dales and other reserves' by warden James Forrester.

Snipe Dales Warden, James Forrester, will update us about Snipe Dales Nature Reserve and Country Park and several other reserves he manages in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

19 Nov: 'Encounters with venomous snakes' by Rolf Williams

Rolf Williams returns to share his top tips on spotting Rattlesnakes in the Sky Islands of Arizona and tell us about their behaviour and remarkably useful venom. Also, he will touch on geography, associated wildlife and habitats of those unique places.

Work parties

Work parties are hosted by the Lincoln Conservation Group and take place in and around the Lincoln Area. The group usually meets twice a month on a Sunday at a variety of nature reserves.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring a drink. Gloves and tools are provided.
