Based in Horncastle, Lincolnshire with flexible working options

Flexible, fixed term (2 year miniumum), circa £25,000 pa

Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust is seeking a Project Officer to work with our partners within the Humberhead Levels. The individual needs to have a ‘can do’ attitude of working with people to secure opportunities for large scale nature recovery across the Lincolnshire peatlands within the Natural Character Area (NCA39) and working with their counterparts within Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire.

Applicants should have a sound knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation in England including the new Environment Act with a handle on the Government’s 25-Year Environment Plan. It will be critical to understand the role peatlands have to play in England achieving Net Zero, how important it is to restore and enhance peatland sites through securing excellent water resource management for cultural, natural and historic heritage purposes. This will entail working with a suite of land managers, authorities and other bodies to identify how barriers to good peatland management may be overcome in a lowland setting.

Experience in partnership working, advocacy and project management will be required, as well as excellent communication skills, a high level of commitment to nature’s recovery and a desire to achieve change. A relevant environmental qualification or equivalent working experience and a full current UK driving licence are also required.

Supported by The Nature for Climate Fund Peatland Discovery Grant Scheme and the EU Life Moor Space funded project.

See downloads below for further job details and application form. CVs alone will not be accepted.

Closing date for applications: 12.00 mid-day on 2 February 2022.
