Film Screening - The Wash: Britain's Secret Wilderness
About the event
Film Screening – The Wash: Britain’s Secret Wilderness by Chris Weston
Hosted by the RSPB and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust
Join us for a special screening of this documentary showcasing the stunning landscapes of The Wash and the wildlife and communities that depend on it. The film explores the delicate balance between conservation and human activity in the UK’s most important wetland.
The Wash is the UK’s most important estuary for wild birds, at the heart of the proposed East Coast Flyway World Heritage Site, each year over two million migrating birds relying on it as somewhere to stop, feed and rest during their globe spanning journeys. It is a landscape shaped by people, including generations of fishermen who have made their living from its waters.
Directed and produced by Chris Weston, a journalist with more than twenty years of experience, the film is described as a “homecoming” project. Weston created it to highlight The Wash as a “secret wilderness” and to champion its continued protection.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with Chris Weston and several individuals featured in the film.
This event will be taking place in the Nineteen33 Suite, entry is via the Hospitality Entrance. There is a stairway and lift access to the Suite which is upstairs.
