About the event

What is the UK's largest butterfly? How do comma butterflies protect themselves from predators? Where did the name 'butterfly' come from in the first place?

Track down the 10 butterfly facts and use them to answer the questions on the trail leaflet. The boards are all positioned on the path around Thorpe Lake, where dogs are very welcome, so the whole family can help sniff them out!

You'll find the leaflets in the Natural World Centre by the car park, which also has a shop, cafe and accessible toilet facilities. Please help yourself to one, and a tear-off map if you're unfamiliar with the routes around Whisby, then start looking for your first butterfly board! They follow a circular route on level terrain and the paths is suitable for most pushchairs and wheelchairs.

This is a self-guided trail, open to all. Normal car parking charges apply.
