Landscapes before the Dunes: the deep prehistory of Lincolnshire
About the event
Explore Lincolnshire's landscapes before the dunes developed with Sam Griffiths, CITiZAN Community Archaeologist.
Since humans began occupying land in Lincolnshire, the landscapes have changed drastically including early dunes systems; large, open plain landscapes and ever-changing coastlines across the North Sea Basin. Humans have also changed throughout his period; both in looks but also in behaviour.
We’ll look at the changing coastlines of the county over the past 500 thousand years and how this effected our knowledge of the period. We’ll look closely at how those landscapes and environmental changes affected the people and animals that dwelt here in our deep past.
This online talk will be hosted on Zoom. Register below to book through Eventbrite or email Tish Cookson at TCookson@lincstrust.co.uk.
