Try and buy binoculars at special event at Gibraltar Point

The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust is hosting a demonstration event with optics specialists Opticron on Sunday 29 July from 10am until 4pm.

birdwatchingGibraltar Point National Nature Reserve is the ideal setting to try binoculars or telescopes whether you want to change your optics or if you are new birdwatching and buying your first pair of binoculars.  The Opticron demonstration even is an opportunity to try out the excellent Opticron range with staff on hand to explain the technical terms, offer expert advice on the model range as well as help you make the best choice based on your budget and individual application.

Why not make a day of it and join the Waterbirds Arrival Guided Walk at the reserve in the morning?  It’s is a chance to see some of the spectacular water birds arriving at Gibraltar Point.  The walk is from 8.30am - 11am, costs £2 for adults and £1 for children, and places must be booked in advance by calling 01754 898057.

Then enjoy lunch in the Point Café within the Gibraltar Point Visitor Centre.  The award-winning Point Café serves delicious, organic, locally sourced food surrounded by the sights and sounds of the nature reserve.



Notes to Editors

  1. How to find us: Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve on the Lincolnshire coast about three miles south of Skegness.  Follow the brown tourist signs through the town onto Gibraltar Road. Continue along the road and over a hump until to see the visitor centre in front of you. Please note that there is a car parking charge at Gibraltar Point NNR which you will be required to pay if you travel by car. 

  2. The Point Café is within the Gibraltar Point Visitor Centre and is a member of Tastes of Lincolnshire; recognised as supplying a choice of fresh Lincolnshire produce. The cafe has been highly commended in the annual Tastes of Lincolnshire Awards and voted the Best Tearoom/Café in the region in the East Midlands Food and Drink Awards.  The Visitor Centre has received the VAQAS award (Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme); VisitEngland's annual quality assessment service for all types of visitor attractions throughout England.
