It’s not too late to get your entry in for the Lincolnshire Environmental Awards. The deadline is Thursday 31 March 2016.

The Lincolnshire Environmental Awards, including the Lincolnshire Young Environmentalist Awards, are open to everyone and the organisers are urging groups, schools and businesses to get their entries in before the deadline on Thursday 31 March 2016. To enter all you need to do is write 200 – 300 words about what you do and your commitment to the environment and send it in. Or if you know of community group, business or school who are doing good things for the environment encourage them to enter.

“Entering the competition is a worthwhile and enjoyable experience, it’s a way to share best practice and it may inspire others to take action themselves” commented Chairman of the Award scheme and Lindum Rotary Club member, Roger Pavey.

Tips on entering

  • Remember everyone has a chance of winning
  • Dedication and enthusiasm is favoured over financial inputs – be sure not to undervalue your achievements
  • Don’t be put off thinking your efforts are not up to a ‘set’ standard.
  • Imagine you’re the judge – would your application impress you? Think about this when completing your entry. Keep your points punchy and relevant.
  • Consider the 5 Ws – Who, What, Why, Where, When.
  • Our judges are used to comparing businesses and projects of very different types and sizes.
  • If you can't find a category to match what you do, please get in touch with us and we'll give you guidance.

The categories in the Lincolnshire Environmental Awards 2016 are:

  • Anglian Water Business Award
  • Centrica Community Award
  • Branston Ltd Rural and Farming Award
  • FCC Young Environmentalist Award

Completed entries together with a covering letter including a contact name, telephone number and email address should be forwarded to:

The written entries will be assessed by a panel of judges which includes experts from around the county. Shortlisted entrants will be visited by a specialist judge and finalists will be invited to present their entries on Thursday 26 May 2016 at the Bentley Hotel in Lincoln. The awards are presented at a gala dinner that evening.

The Lincolnshire Environmental Awards, the only dedicated environmental awards programme in the county, are organised by Lindum Rotary Club and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
