Whisby Nature Park

Celebrate the signs of summer with this seasonal trail. Leading you around the nature park this trail helps you discover the secrets that nature holds.
Prize for every completed trail. 
Please note this is a self-guided trail and requires adult supervision. Run in partnership with the Natural World Centre.

Develop your skills as a woodland crafter under the expert tuition of local green wood worker Al Capel. Using a pole lathe and shave horse, you will make a wooden product to treasure.

The aim of these walks is to thoroughly survey a range of wildlife species within a chosen restricted area on the nature reserve. Suitable for budding naturalists.
Depending on weather boots/wellingtons are advised as much of the morning is spent off the path system.

Messingham Sand Quarry nature reserve

Guides will be available if required or walk around the waymarked routes at leisure.
Pond dipping for the young and young at heart.
Plus a Trust sales stall and East of England Binoculars giving advice on binoculars, telescopes and anything to do with observing wildlife.
Messingham Sand Quarry is south of Scunthorpe and to the east of the B1400 Messingham-Kirton road, entrance is opposite Scallow Grove Farm (look for electricity pylon). Grid ref SE 908032With the Scunthorpe & Brigg Area Group

This wildlife meadow with pond was created from a paddock in 2010. Come and see it in full flower and learn how it was created. Refreshments, activities for children and various stalls.
