Where shown all the nature reserves are open to the public. A few reserves have restricted access but most of these may be visited with a member's permit at any time. Permits for group visits (10 or more) and for educational use may also be obtained from the Trust's headquarters. Membership of the Trust provides an annual permit for visiting almost all the reserves.
The wheelchair symbol shown for some reserves, indicates that disabled access is possible, at least in good weather conditions. It does not imply that there are special facilities. Good all-weather wheelchair access is available at the four major visitor sites Whisby Nature Park, Gibraltar Point, Snipe Dales and Far Ings.
In addition to reserves showing the disabled access symbol, there are several sites at which good views can be had from car parks or verges. These include Red Hill, Gibraltar Point, Whisby Nature Park, Duke's Covert, South Witham Verges and Fairfield Pit.
