Future Jobs Fund Work Experience
The Future Jobs Fund has been created by the government to provide around £1 billion to support the creation of 150,000 jobs for long term unemployed young people and others who face significant disadvantage in the labour market within the UK. Young people between 18 and 24 years old who have been claiming Job Seekers Allowance for nine months or more will be eligible to receive a paid job that will enable them to gain the skills and experience necessary to further their career aspirations.
We have secured funding through Future Jobs Fund to create 6 paid placements over the next six months. Working 25 hours per week and receiving pay at the national minimum wage rate the following positions are available:
Nature Reserve Assistant – With an interest in countryside matters and some experience of outdoor work you will help with a wide variety of practical estate and general wardening work on the nature reserve and scientific recording and monitoring. Placements are available at Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve near Skegness and Far Ings National Nature Reserve near Barton on Humber.
Conservation Admin Assistant – Able to use Microsoft Word and ideally with some experience of office working you will help to carry out research on conservation issues, process biological data and assist with survey and general administrative work. This placement is based at LWT’s headquarters in Horncastle.
Cafe Assistant - Based at the the Point Cafe situated within the Visitor Centre at Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve near Skegness, you will work as part of a team in preparing food, serving customers and ensuring the cafe and kitchen areas are kept clean. Experience of working in a cafe/retail business would be an advantage.
On the job training will be provided.
