Summer is simply not complete without a visit to the coast and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trusts events provide the perfect opportunity.

Everyone remembers childhood trips to the seaside; picking up seashells, building sand castles and paddling. But it’s not just about the sand castles; the Lincolnshire coast is home to a wide variety of animals that make the coast and the sea their home and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has some special events to help you discover them.

Whale and Dolphin Watching

Did you know whales and dolphins can be seen off the Lincolnshire coast? The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust is taking part in a nationwide whale and dolphin watching weekend organised by the Sea Watch Foundation to try and discover more about these animals. Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers will be watching from Skegness Pier and at Anderby Creek in the hope of spotting whales, dolphins and porpoises. Visitors are welcome to come along to all or part of the day. If you have binoculars please bring them along. Part of a national weekend in partnership with Sea Watch Foundation

Family Days and Roadshows

There are also lots of smaller animals that live in our seas from starfish and scallops to jellyfish and sea urchins. Join Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust Education Officers and explore the sea shore for hidden animal treasures and see what amazing creatures live in the waters just off the shore.
